Our January foaling mares decided to take their time and whereas seven were due, only one obliged. Six carried over to early February producing strong healthy foals and more importantly six colts from seven foaled mares.
Brazilian Samba – a Mastercraftsman colt born on the 8th May
Our last two foals were each born on May 8th when we finished the year with seventeen colts and eight fillies. We bred Brazilian Samba to Mastercraftsman and so as to follow his illustrious three quarters brother Endowing by Danehill Dancer. Endowing is a multiple winner in Hong Kong winning at GR2 level and
Fiuise – a Zebedee colt born on the 8th May
Fiuise was the unraced Montjeu daughter of Winning Sequence and this is her second foal. She was cast and injured her pelvis when in training and so did not race. She has produced a strong bay colt to follow on her Kodiac colt of 2015, who will be sold at the DBS Premier Yearling
Winning Sequence – a Zoffany colt born on the 28th April
This is our third Zoffany where we have had two colts and one filly. He is a big strong colt weighing in at 130 lbs and we are hoping that the Zoffany – Zafonic cross will produce a top class racehorse. Winning Sequence has a Mastercraftsman yearling filly which was a late foal and
Kitty Love – an Invincible Spirit colt born on the 27th April
Kitty Love had an outstanding Invincible Spirit first foal which met with an accident in the paddock and unfortunately had to be put down. We sent the mare back to Invincible Spirit and again she has produced another good colt. With the Sadlers Wells/Invincible Spirit cross working so well we look forward to producing
Witch of Fife – a Born to Sea filly born on the 11th April
We had hoped for a filly here and Witch of Fife did not let us down. We already raced her daughter Loreto who had a Teofilo colt in March. This Born to Sea filly will race in the name of Joan Brosnan and will be kept in the Stud as a Broodmare.
Jewel in the Sand – a Dark Angel colt born on the 3rd April
Like all Dark Angel’s this colt has not left his sire down. Weighing 132 lbs he is strong and athletic. Jewel in the Sand has a High Chaparral 2YO colt in training with Luca Cumani. Her Camelot yearling filly will go to one of the top Autumn Sales.
Pussycat Lips – a Lope de Vega colt born on the 30th March
This mare won her maiden in Ireland and was bought as a filly out of training at Keeneland having just finished second in a G3 at Santa Anita. This is her second foal following on from her Scat Daddy yearling filly. She will visit Iffraaj.
Mill Guineas – a Charm Spirit filly born on the 25th March
Mill Guineas gives us plenty to look forward to in 2016. Monotype, a Makfi colt, and De Veer Cliffs are both expected to earn their black type and will be racing shortly. Her Pivotal yearling filly, a full sister to the black type filly Mill Marin will go to one of the top sales.
Dhamma – a No Nay Never colt born on the 16th March
A strong colt by the well bred son of Scat Daddy. Dhamma has already produced three runners and three winners with her Danehill Dancer colt group placed. She has a yearling colt by Most Improved who will go to the DBS premier yearling sale in August.
