Our January foaling mares decided to take their time and whereas seven were due, only one obliged. Six carried over to early February producing strong healthy foals and more importantly six colts from seven foaled mares.
Varenka – a Zebedee colt born on the 12th of March
This is a strong powerful colt weighing in at 150 lbs. It is obvious that the Green Dessert cross works with this mare as her previous best progeny was Whispering Warrior by Oasis Dream. She will visit the Coolmore stallion Power.
Loreto – a Teofilo colt born on the 9th of March
Loreto is a winning daughter of Witch of Fife – one of the Croom House foundation mares. Her first foal, a Pivotal 2YO in 2016 will race for Qatar Racing. She has a Sea the Stars filly which will go to one of the top sales.
Ihearyouknocking – a Tamayus colt born on the 2nd March
Ger Lyons has been a great admirer of Ihearyouknocking progeny as he trained both the 3YO Restive (already a winner at 2) and also Nelisandra, a filly by Intense Focus. This Tamayus colt looks an out and out 2YO
Tyranny – A Dubawi filly born on the 27th February
Like all Tyranny’s progeny this is another outstanding filly. Her son Wiltshire Boulevard is gone to stud in 2016 and hopefully he can emulate the illustrious brother Zoffany
Cedar Sea – An Exceed and Excel filly born on the 26th February
Cedar Sea’s 2YO by Lawman was sold at the Goffs Orby and is in training with Mark Johnston. She has a Declaration of War yearling and will go back to Cape Cross the sire of Corsica – a group three winner and third in the ledger at Doncaster.
Red Avis – A Rip Van Winkle filly born on the 25th February
Red Avis by Exceed and Excel had a Galileo first foal which is in training with John Gosden. We continued with the Sadlers Wells line matings where she has a Teofilo yearling and now this Rip Van Winkle foal.
Spiritual Air – A Paco Boy colt born on the 23rd February.
This is a strong athletic colt weighing in at 130 lbs. Spiritual Air was rested in 2015 and will visit Iffraaj this year, having already produced two winners by Iffraaj namely Perfect Step and Fourth Way, who was black type placed as a two year old in 2015.
Landmark – A Shamardal colt born on the 12th February
Landmark already has two black type horses by Galileo and a third Galileo, sold at Book One in 2015, has gone into training with Sir Michael Stoute. All her foals have been strong and good looking and the Shamardal is another outstanding foal.
Oui Say Oui – A Sea the Stars colt born on the 8th February
Oui Say Oui had a year off in 2015. Her 2YO by New Approach is in training with Ger Lyons and the mare herself will visit Fastnet Rock this year.
Sweepstake – An Australia colt born on the 8th February
An outstanding foal and a very good reason why we will send mares back to Australia. Sweepstake gives us lots to look forward to in 2016. Her 4YO, Horseshoe Bay, already placed in a group three remains in training with Sir Michael Stoute; her 3YO by Galileo named Finian’s Bay is in training with
