Aurora Dawn (Awtaad X Bright New Day) had run three times in December and January to get her handicap mark returned in April to finish a close 3rd at Lingfield. She reappeared on May 19th at Newmarket to run in the Jockey Club Grassroots Mile Series and beat a field of sixteen runners by four and a half lengths. Going to post with an official rating of 67, the handicapper has not been kind raising her official rating to 73. However the manner in which she left the remainder dead in their heels when asked to go at the 1f mark suggests she can win many more handicaps off the new rating.
Aurora Dawn is the second winner out of the young mare Bright New Day. The next sibling, a cable bay colt is due to run at Pontefract on May 26th and we are hopeful the winning streak will continue.
