Desert (Havana Gold X Jewel in the Sand) had run three times between June 22^nd and July 17^th getting an official rating of 70 for those efforts.  He went to the post at Nottingham on July 29^th, in the Mansion Bet Nursery Handicap as favourite at 5/2.  He did not disappoint his followers and led from the 2f mark.   Though hard pressed by the runner up he was always doing enough to hold onto his lead.

Desert is out of the GR2 winning mare, Jewel in the Sand.  He is her eight winner and where her only non winner, Bright Sapphire has herself bred group horses.

Jewel in the Sand has a Sioux Nation yearling colt which sells at the DBS Premier Sale on August 24^th.
