Janey Mackers (Newbay X Stor Mo Chroi) was a late April foal and did not appear on a racecourse until October 7th finishing a close 3rd at Yarmouth.  When she reappeared at Doncaster on October 25th to contest the Class 2 EBF Fillies Stakes she was all the rage going to post as the 7/4 favourite.  The race was worth Stg. £21,600 to the winner and her winning was never in doubt.  Staying up with the pace, her jockey Oisin Murphy asked her for her effort at the 1f mark and she simply sprinted away from the field winning by five and a half lengths eased down.

Her trainer David Menuisier said she holds a Guineas entry but her breeding suggests she is an Oaks filly and he has her entered for the British, Irish and French Oaks in2025.  Janey Mackers is a daughter of the unraced Montjeu mare Stor Mo Chroi, herself being a daughter of Landmark.  Stor Mo Chroi has had five runners from six foals of racing age and all have won.  She is now in foal to St Mark’s Basilica.

We would like to wish David Menuisier and the owner AJ Walls every success in 2025 and they have much to look forward to.
