Praetorian (Romanised X Ghand) was 2^nd on his three runs before going to Brighton on August 8^th.  His conqueror on June 27^th was subsequently 2^nd in a GR2 to Whistlejacket, himself 2^nd in the Phoenix Stakes GR1 since.  When beaten a head on July 26^th at York his conqueror went on to finish 3^rd in a GR3 next time.

Praetorian went to Brighton for the Star Insurance Maiden Stakes and went to post at 1/14 favourite.  He made light work of his task, leading from the outset and eased down in the final furlong.

Prateorian’s dam Ghand is the daughter of the outstanding broodmare Landmark and the sire Gallileo.  She did not win in her two outings to a racecourse.  She has bred two winners and a placed 3YO by Bated Breath in two maidens and a listed contest.  After Prateorian she had a Newbay foal which died but is now safely back in foal to State of Rest.
