Soaring Star had an official rating at 75 when it won at Ayr in 2020. With just placed efforts this year his rating was reduced to 71 in the past week and off this new number he got back to winning ways in the Cazoo Handicap at Newcastle on Friday. Taking the lead before the 1f mark the 2nd and 3rd kept closing the gap but never got to the winner.
I would like to congratulate the owner Hambleton Racing and the trainer Kevin Ryan for bringing Soaring Star back to winning ways. His half brother was bought at the Fairyhouse sale last week by O’Byrne and Grassick.
