Solid Stone with an official rating of 105 had been knocking on the door for a pattern win and made no mistake in the Royal Windsor Stakes (listed race) on Monday evening. Sir Michael Stoute is well known for getting the best from his older horses and both he and jockey Ryan Moore show their expertise, when guiding Solid Stone to a 2½ lengths easy victory.
Solid Stone is the seventh winner out of the mare Landmark, and the third black type winner. Landmark has a Showcasing yearling colt which goes to the Newmarket Book One Sale in October. We expect Solid Stone to add more black type wins to his already impressive racing career being five times a winner and placed on seven occasions.
