After winning as a 2YO on the 29^th of September Hi Clare returned to the track on May 31^st and after this long lay off was just beaten by ¾ of a length.  After just a break of 12 days made no mistake at Pontefract in winning the Sky Bet Handicap.  Though shouldering top weight his jockey chose the lead from stalls to post and try as the favourite did to catch him he was not to be denied winning by ½ a length.  Keeping his best performance for ground that is good to firm he should notch up more wins in the months ahead.

Hi Clare is the daughter of Shemda whose next daughter by Night of Thunder was sold at Tattersalls Book 1 in October 2022 to race in the USA.
